We do have a WINNER!

I know everyone is anxious for me to announce the winner.  I am too!  I have notified the lucky person (waiting on them to respond to me) and have asked their permission to announce their name on my blog.  If it wasn’t you that won, I’m sorry.  I am constantly working on new patterns (another one to be released in the next week or so) and that means MORE SAMPLES cluttering my house.  Guess I’ll have to have another giveaway soon :>))

Congratulations to Emmaleigh!

Lana has been teaching her 12 year old twin girls and their friends how to sew.  They have been working on things the girls can use to make it fun for them to learn.    One of her students, Emmaleigh Dunston, made a spiral notebook cover from my tutorial and entered it into the State Fair of Texas and WON A RIBBON!  I have to say it is the prettiest notebook cover I have EVER seen Emmaleigh!  I love your choice of fabric and the way you embellished it with buttons is just adorable.  I am so proud of you!  Please keep up the good work.

Lana, you have done a fantastic job teaching these young girls to sew.  Thank you for taking the time to  pass the love of sewing down to our younger generation and for sending this picture to me.  It really touched my heart.

One more day till the giveaway

For all those who have posted comments, I really appreciate all the sweet remarks.   I’m glad I am drawing randomly because I couldn’t stand to have to pick just one to be my favorite :>)  If you haven’t left a comment yet, please post one before midnight Sunday night so you can be entered for the Why Knot Tote Bag sample(not the ladybug tote pictured above but the black and cream one from the previous blog post).  I will draw the winner on Monday and announce it after I have contacted them via email.  Good luck!

I Have Too Many Samples….Who Wants This One?

To say I have a FEW totes lying around my house is a HUGE understatement!  Therefore, I am going to have a contest to give the sample shown below away to a good home.  If you would like to be entered into this contest, all you have to do is leave me a comment on this post.  After September 30th, I will draw a lucky winner and mail this bag to you.  Simple, right?  You bet!  Easiest contest ever!

Back by popular demand

Due to the overwhelming response the Why Knot Tote Bag has received, I have decided to run the special of $5.00  for the pattern until Sunday night at midnight.  At that time, it will go up to the normal price of $8.00.  Thank you all so very much for your support.  I am thrilled you guys like the pattern.  Makes all my long hours and late nights of working on it worthwhile.

If you haven’t purchased your Why Knot Tote Bag pattern yet, please click HERE to take you to my Etsy store to get it while it is at this reduced price.

And….Why Knot?

I have been hard at work on my latest tote bag pattern, Why Knot?

This adorable bag measures  16 ½” wide x 12 ½” tall, 6” deep, making it the perfect size to carry all your goodies.  My construction technique makes it sturdy (no slouchy bags for me) and stylish with its unique shape.

I have taken away the scare of zippers by not including any on this pattern.  But we still need the pocket in our bag, right?  Well, I added a pleated pocket to the inside instead.

Plus, two additional pleated pockets on the outside for easy access storage to hold your cell phone and keys.

Did you also notice the expandable sides with the magnetic snaps?

As always, my pattern includes step by step instructions with lots of pictures to guide you in making your own Why Knot Tote Bag.  I have also included my Sewnopsis with this pattern that will serve as your cheat sheet and save you lots of time by not having to run to and from the computer to see what step is next.  I have been told by customers that this is one of their favorite part of my patterns.

If you would like to purchase my Why Knot? Tote Bag, please click HERE to visit my Etsy store.

For the first 10 customers, this pattern will be $5.00.  After those ten have sold, the pattern will return to its normal price of $8.00.

Introducing The Mini-Screen PDF Pattern

Below are some samples of my newest pattern, The Mini-Screen.   The PDF pattern is loaded with over 65 pictures to guide you step by step in making your own adorable Mini-Screen tote.  The PDF also includes a Sewnopsis.  What is a Sewnopsis?  It is a single sheet reference guide that has the most important steps of the pattern listed along with mini pictures.  It is like  a cheat sheet to keep near your sewing machine.  Genius right?  I designed this sheet to save time by not having to run to and from the computer to see what step is next.   It also includes a supply list making it super handy to take with you to the fabric store.   To purchase my pattern click here and it will open a new tab to my Etsy Store.

This versatile tote is petite but still roomy enough to hold all your necessities and look adorable while doing it!

What girly girl wouldn’t want to carry the turquoise Mini-Screen pictured below?

You can personalize the bag with monogramming if you choose.

It could also function as a lunch tote.

I am constantly working on new patterns and hope to have more available in the next few weeks.

Thanks for your support and I hope I have inspired you to want to go and sew something :>)

My Etsy Store ~ SewMichelle Too

I DID IT!  I FINALLY DID IT!  I opened my Etsy store as of today ~ YIPPEEE!!!  This has definitely been a labor of love for me!  I had no idea opening an Etsy store would be so much work!!  I am thrilled to announce it is finally up and going.  The long awaited Screen It Up tote bag is my very first pattern for sale.  Yes, there is only ONE pattern up for now but there will be plenty more to follow.

So please go take a look and of course buy my pattern :>))

Click HERE to go to my Etsy Shop.

If you don’t want to make the tote bag with embroidery~ no problem.  Here is a picture without it and it is just as adorable!  With all the cute fabrics out there, the possibilities are limitless on what theme or color scheme you can use to create this fabulous bag.

My newest creation……The Panty Pack

Here is my latest creation  ~ The Panty Pack.  It is a travel bag for your undies.  There are two  separate compartments to hold your worn and unworn delicates.    You can personalize the bag by using  your favorite fabrics and trims.  You could even put an initial on the panty applique to monogram it.  The tutorial comes with the applique, embroidery for the lettering (in the most popular formats) and lots of pictures to guide you step by step.

This  would make a great present for someone that loves to travel and would even be perfect for a bride or bridesmaid’s gifts.

I’m proud to say that Pellon  has posted this project to their website.  You can click here to find the tutorial.   I will also add a link under my tutorial section for easy access.  While you’re at the Pellon site, be sure to look at the projects other artists have created.  There are some cute things on there and the good thing is they are all FREE.    Happy Sewing.

Maxi Bag by Ellie Mae Designs

Coming from the 80’s generation, I’m calling this bag, Purple Rain.

It is made from a gorgeous purple, teal and green cotton fabric that I bought at Joann’s a few years ago and I wish now I had bought about 10 yards of it.  The polka dot fabric adds just the right touch to make the teal/aqua color pop.

I used the 1″ scalloped ruler maker from QuickPointsRuler.com (such a neat tool) and then of course I had to add rick rack somewhere, so I nestled it between the scallops and the outside rim of the bag.  I also added two different colors of rick rack under the pocket flap.

This is a darling pattern but I made a few changes.  I chose Soft and Stable for the outside stabilizer and Pellon’s Decor Bond on the lining.  I also added a zippered pocket and some embroidery from Hatched In Africa on the inside.  I changed the position of the handles and used soft and stable to give them body and make them “stand up” on their own.

This is the cover for the Ellie Mae Maxi Bag pattern and the link to purchase it http://kwiksew.mccall.com/ellie-mae-pages-3369.php
