Congratulations to Emmaleigh!

Lana has been teaching her 12 year old twin girls and their friends how to sew.  They have been working on things the girls can use to make it fun for them to learn.    One of her students, Emmaleigh Dunston, made a spiral notebook cover from my tutorial and entered it into the State Fair of Texas and WON A RIBBON!  I have to say it is the prettiest notebook cover I have EVER seen Emmaleigh!  I love your choice of fabric and the way you embellished it with buttons is just adorable.  I am so proud of you!  Please keep up the good work.

Lana, you have done a fantastic job teaching these young girls to sew.  Thank you for taking the time to  pass the love of sewing down to our younger generation and for sending this picture to me.  It really touched my heart.

One more day till the giveaway

For all those who have posted comments, I really appreciate all the sweet remarks.   I’m glad I am drawing randomly because I couldn’t stand to have to pick just one to be my favorite :>)  If you haven’t left a comment yet, please post one before midnight Sunday night so you can be entered for the Why Knot Tote Bag sample(not the ladybug tote pictured above but the black and cream one from the previous blog post).  I will draw the winner on Monday and announce it after I have contacted them via email.  Good luck!

I Have Too Many Samples….Who Wants This One?

To say I have a FEW totes lying around my house is a HUGE understatement!  Therefore, I am going to have a contest to give the sample shown below away to a good home.  If you would like to be entered into this contest, all you have to do is leave me a comment on this post.  After September 30th, I will draw a lucky winner and mail this bag to you.  Simple, right?  You bet!  Easiest contest ever!

Back by popular demand

Due to the overwhelming response the Why Knot Tote Bag has received, I have decided to run the special of $5.00  for the pattern until Sunday night at midnight.  At that time, it will go up to the normal price of $8.00.  Thank you all so very much for your support.  I am thrilled you guys like the pattern.  Makes all my long hours and late nights of working on it worthwhile.

If you haven’t purchased your Why Knot Tote Bag pattern yet, please click HERE to take you to my Etsy store to get it while it is at this reduced price.

And….Why Knot?

I have been hard at work on my latest tote bag pattern, Why Knot?

This adorable bag measures  16 ½” wide x 12 ½” tall, 6” deep, making it the perfect size to carry all your goodies.  My construction technique makes it sturdy (no slouchy bags for me) and stylish with its unique shape.

I have taken away the scare of zippers by not including any on this pattern.  But we still need the pocket in our bag, right?  Well, I added a pleated pocket to the inside instead.

Plus, two additional pleated pockets on the outside for easy access storage to hold your cell phone and keys.

Did you also notice the expandable sides with the magnetic snaps?

As always, my pattern includes step by step instructions with lots of pictures to guide you in making your own Why Knot Tote Bag.  I have also included my Sewnopsis with this pattern that will serve as your cheat sheet and save you lots of time by not having to run to and from the computer to see what step is next.  I have been told by customers that this is one of their favorite part of my patterns.

If you would like to purchase my Why Knot? Tote Bag, please click HERE to visit my Etsy store.

For the first 10 customers, this pattern will be $5.00.  After those ten have sold, the pattern will return to its normal price of $8.00.
